❤️ Tuesdays at Haydays ❤️

❤️ Tuesdays at Haydays ❤️

On Tuesday mornings in St Andrews,
When the doors of the hall swing wide,
A warmth drifts out to meet us,
A gentle, glowing tide.

Haydays fills with friendly voices,
Footsteps echo soft and light,
A place where joy is woven,
From morning into night.

The Classes That Bring the Magic

Liz and her stained glass wonders
Teach colours how to shine,
Flowers, birds and butterflies,
In every perfect line.
She guides each careful hand with grace,
Her patience calm and true,
Until glass becomes creation,
A story told in blue.

Chaun with her Tai Chi movements
Brings a mindful, peaceful air,
She helps us feel the energy
That gathers softly there.
Our red fans open like blossoms,
A flutter bright and free,
And for a moment we are dancers,
In a quiet harmony.

Carlyn’s salsa dancing
Is sunshine set to beat,
We learn new steps and sequences,
We laugh, we tap our feet.
Sometimes we chat so joyfully,
She struggles to be heard,
But she never minds our happiness,
Not one impatient word.

Linda’s Mahjong table
Is a place of peaceful skill,
Tiles clink like quiet music
As the hands are learned at will.
She teaches with such patience
That every question finds its way,
A steady, guiding presence
In each thoughtful Mahjong day.

Morag’s craft creations
Bring imagination’s spark,
Cards and keepsakes, gifts and treasures,
Bursting from her heart.
She helps us shape our memories,
With ribbons, glue and thread,
And somehow turns each Tuesday
Into miracles instead.

Ailsa with her yoga
Has a voice both soft and warm,
A grounding, gentle rhythm
That helps our breathing form.
The microphone has helped us
Hear each soothing word she speaks,
A quiet gift of calmness
For the busiest of weeks.

Issi with her indoor curling
Brings laughter to the day,
She guides each stone with kindness
In her gentle, thoughtful way.
We cheer and glide and concentrate,
Then celebrate each turn,
For every slide across the floor
Brings joy at every turn.

Norrie and the ukuleles
Bring a happy, lilting sound,
With HUGS they travel outward,
Sharing joy from town to town.
Music fills the members’ hearts
And brightens every place,
A little spark of Haydays
Shared with every smiling face.

Janice and her advanced group
Strum melodies with pride,
They play, they sing, they harmonise,
With friendship by their side.
A lovely, lively gathering,
A chorus joined as one,
Where every note is laughter,
And every chord is fun.

Linda’s reading circle
Is candlelight in words,
Poetry, prose and stories,
Where imagination stirs.
We listen, we think and journey
To new worlds, old and new,
And always leave inspired
By the stories that shine through.

Margaret’s Singing for Fun
Brings voices bright and clear,
Altos, baritones and sopranos,
All welcome, all held dear.
Together we create a sound
That rises, sweet and strong,
A simple, shining reminder
Of the joy of sharing song.

Canasta with Margaret
Makes the room both calm and bright,
Shuffling cards, soft chatter,
And the thrill of playing right.
We chase our melds with smiles,
Cheer each win and loss with grace,
Another gentle moment
In this warm and caring place.

Mira with her art classes
Pours colour into the day,
Paintings, drawings, sketches,
In a rainbow bright array.
She nurtures every student
With a patient artist’s heart,
Helping hands find confidence
In every stroke of art.

The Heart Behind the Scenes

The café hums with kindness,
With coffee, tea and cheer,
And home baked treats that warm the heart
Whenever they appear.

Gordon brings the Tuesday shopping,
Bread and milk and flowers too,
A quiet, steady helper
Who keeps us running true.

Norma and Jackie, early risers,
Prepare each soup and tray,
Creating little comforts
In the gentle Haydays way.

Nina and Norma after lunch
Tidy up with patient care,
Stacking cups and wiping tables,
Making calm from everywhere.

And Nina with her cheerful smile
Drops badges, books and forms,
Registers ready for the day
No matter how it storms.

Tricia helping stained glass start
Ensures the tools are placed just right,
A quiet act of readiness
That lifts the morning’s light.

The bakers of Haydays bless us
With their cakes and treats each week,
Biscuits, cookies, slices,
That make our Tuesdays sweet.

And all the kind volunteers
Who wash up, clear and store,
Keep Haydays gently running
As they tidy, sweep and pour.

We thank them all so deeply,
For all they do each day,
For truth be told, without them,
Haydays couldn’t run this way.

And if you love the kitchen chatter,
The warmth, the laughs, the pace,
Then come and join the helpers,
We would love a brand new face.

Three cheers for our caretakers,
Roy, Morven and Scott,
Who quite simply do an awful, awful lot.
Without them we could not run,
And Haydays wouldn’t be so much fun.

What Makes Haydays Haydays

So here’s to Tuesdays at Haydays,
To the people warm and kind,
To every class that sparks delight,
To the joy we always find.

To stained glass bright as sunlight,
To songs that fill the air,
To art and dance and stories,
To friendships blooming there.

Here’s to laughter in the café,
To fans that flutter wide,
To quiet mindful moments
With calmness by our side.
To colours, tiles and music,
To cards and crafts and play,
To the simple truth that Haydays
Is magic every day.

For this is more than a charity,
It is a caring gentle space,
A place where hearts feel lighter,
Where love and joy embrace.
Where everyone is welcome,
Where every smile stays,
Where kindness is the sunlight
That brightens all our days.

A Christmas Wish

And now as Christmas nears us,
With its soft and peaceful glow,
We send our warmest wishes
To each friend we’ve come to know.

May your homes be filled with laughter,
May your hearts find rest and light,
May love surround your holidays
With comfort pure and bright.

We wish you joy and gentleness,
Good health and festive cheer,
And we look forward to the moment
We meet again next year.

Until Haydays starts once more,
With smiles that light the way,
We hold you in our hearts
This peaceful Christmas day.

Peace and love to everyone,
And we will see you in the New Year.
