Meet The Team

Meet the Haydays Committee

Margo Lindsay

Margo Lindsay

Chairperson

Margo, our Chairperson, leads the committee with warmth and energy, overseeing the smooth running of all aspects of Haydays — from coordinating activities to helping with new developments such as a website. Each Tuesday morning, Margo, along with two members, sets up the café, preparing the space so members can start their day with a warm welcome.

Liz Hamilton

Liz Hamilton

Treasurer

Manages Haydays’ finances with care and dedication, ensuring everything is in order and accounted for. Liz also arrives early each Tuesday to help heat and serve the soup at lunchtime, working alongside Heather to keep the café running smoothly and efficiently.

Mark Dunkerley

Mark Dunkerley

Consulting Committee member

Mark provides valuable guidance to the committee with his wealth of experience, and his support has been a tremendous strength to this new, fresh committee. Each Tuesday, before heading to his class, Mark takes charge of the washing up — quietly keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes. His thoughtful contributions and steady encouragement make a real difference, and we are so grateful for all he brings.

Carole Cameron

Carole Cameron

Class Coordinator

The Haydays committee is delighted to welcome our new Class Coordinator, Carol Cameron. Carol brings a wealth of experience as both an administrator and a natural people person, making her a perfect fit for this important role. She is looking forward to working closely with our tutors, supporting the organisation of class structures, and introducing fresh ideas for new and engaging activities. Carol is excited to take on this challenge, and we are equally thrilled to have her on board. With her energy and enthusiasm, we are confident she will help ensure our classes remain stimulating, enjoyable, and rewarding for all our members.

What the Committee Do Together

Since taking over in June, the Committee have:
  • Run 8 weeks of workshops to keep members connected.
  • Organised registration events with a new card reader for easier payments.
  • Prepared for Blocks 1 & 2 with new tutors, classes, and equipment (including yoga mats, a sound system, and a new Mahjong set)
  • Created a welcoming café space, reorganised storage with wheeled units, and arranged a new banner thanks to funding support.
  • Begun work on a brand-new Haydays website – coming soon!

We Need Your Help

Running Haydays takes more than 5 Committee members. Volunteering for even a short time – setting up, helping in the café, or tidying away – makes a huge difference. If you can spare a little time, we’d love your support.

Traditions

Fresh Flowers & Thoughtful Gestures

We have introduced a new tradition of placing fresh flowers on our table every Tuesday for members to enjoy. Each week, these flowers are dedicated to a member or tutor whom we feel would especially appreciate them – a small gesture to bring joy and recognition to our Haydays community.

If any of our members would like to nominate someone to receive the flowers, we would love to hear from you.

Your Committee also sends out cards for special occasions, or simply to let someone know they’re in our thoughts. If you know of a member who would appreciate such a gesture, please don’t hesitate to let us know.
