Haydays has been a proud part of are St Andrews and the wider community for over 24 years, built on the simple belief that you don’t stop playing when you get old – you get old when you stop playing. As a not-for-profit organisation run by a dedicated committee of volunteers, our mission is to provide a warm and vibrant space where people over 50 can stay connected, active, and inspired. Most Tuesdays during term time we open our doors to offer a place where you can learn, laugh, and live life to the full with friends, old and new.
Our organisation is all about creating a sense of belonging. Whether you’re trying out a new class or enjoying a chat over a cup of coffee in our friendly cafe, you’ll find a supportive and inclusive community waiting for you. We offer a wide range of creative, social, and active pursuits to suit all interests, making Tuesday feel like the best day of the week.
Enjoy a great mix of activities, like

Every Tuesday, I look forward to the classes and seeing all my friends. It's the highlight of my week!
The volunteers are so welcoming, and there's always something new to try. I wish I'd joined sooner
Chairperson
Margo, our Chairperson, leads the committee with warmth and energy, overseeing the smooth running of all aspects of Haydays — from coordinating activities to helping with new developments such as a website. Each Tuesday morning, Margo, along with two members, sets up the café, preparing the space so members can start their day with a warm welcome.
Membership Secretary
Not only oversees the membership but has also taken on the mammoth task of handling all the administration and emails to members, as well as making sure everything runs smoothly. Heather also helps serve in the café, keeping lunchtime speedy and friendly, and arrives early each Tuesday to help warm and serve the soup.
Treasurer
Manages Haydays’ finances with care and dedication, ensuring everything is in order and accounted for. Liz also arrives early each Tuesday to help heat and serve the soup at lunchtime, working alongside Heather to keep the café running smoothly and efficiently.
Consulting Committee member
Mark provides valuable guidance to the committee with his wealth of experience, and his support has been a tremendous strength to this new, fresh committee. Each Tuesday, before heading to his class, Mark takes charge of the washing up — quietly keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes. His thoughtful contributions and steady encouragement make a real difference, and we are so grateful for all he brings.
Admin Assistant
Sonja Kirk arrives early each Tuesday to deliver 15 boxes of badges and registration forms to every class, ensuring everything is ready for the day ahead. Sonja also assists with the administrative overspill, helping the committee keep everything running smoothly.
Class Coordinator
The Haydays committee is delighted to welcome our new Class Coordinator, Carol Cameron. Carol brings a wealth of experience as both an administrator and a natural people person, making her a perfect fit for this important role. She is looking forward to working closely with our tutors, supporting the organisation of class structures, and introducing fresh ideas for new and engaging activities. Carol is excited to take on this challenge, and we are equally thrilled to have her on board. With her energy and enthusiasm, we are confident she will help ensure our classes remain stimulating, enjoyable, and rewarding for all our members.
At Haydays, I've found more than just a place to go; I've found a new community and a purpose.
